A smoke alarm will alert you to a fire when you can hear it or see it, but it can’t protect you. A fire sprinkler system will control the fire at its source, protecting the occupants, the building, and your assets. If the fire sprinkler system is also monitored by the fire alarm system, as required by code, it will automatically alert the fire department as soon as the water flow begins. The safest buildings have both smoke detectors and a fire sprinkler system.
